For over 25 years now the River Zydeco Band have been playing zydeco throughout Europe, spreading their passion for this Louisiana originated dance music. Now, with the new album Down The Line, they want to broaden their horizon and take the music to a wider audience.
Euro-zydeco is what it’s all about. Twelve pop songs with a zydeco flavor that will make you feel good and dance. This ten-piece band is eager to spread Zydecosis, a fever that will get you hooked on the music and makes you tap your toes.
Ever since accordion player and founding member Jo van Strien heard a black guy (Clifton Chenier) playing the blues on a accordion in a little record store in London, it inspired him to start a band with his friends. Like a good wine the River Zydeco Band have evolved and matured and now in its current line up the band is ready to be enjoyed to the fullest. We would like to invite you to have a listen and perhaps we are able to seduce you to our Eurozydeco.
